"Compartments" Series

"Compartments"  relates to the compartmentalized living spaces and arrangements found in large cities and poverty-stricken areas throughout the world.  The loss of land space to construct dwellings has resulted in the construction of buildings upward as opposed to outward. The view represented in this piece is from above looking down into the spaces.  Each piece is Kona cotton, machine pieced and quilted on a domestic sewing machine.
